What We Achieved

The RNH Teen Center in the Bronx incorporated B-Flex Exposed Fastener 7.2 panels into its design, a choice that delivered both a modern aesthetic and practical functionality. These panels were selected not only for their sleek, contemporary look but also for their ease of installation, making them an ideal solution for a project that required both style and efficiency. The exposed fastener system contributes to the building’s sharp, industrial appearance, while ensuring long-lasting durability and performance.

All of the panels and trims used in the project were custom manufactured at B&B Sheet Metal’s 5th generation sheet metal facility in Long Island City, New York. With a deep heritage in metal fabrication, this facility is known for producing high-quality, precision-crafted materials that meet the rigorous standards of modern construction. By producing the panels in longer lengths, the installation process was made significantly more efficient, reducing the number of seams and joints, which in turn minimizes maintenance needs and potential failure points over time.

To further enhance the stability and longevity of the exterior cladding system, special heavy-gauge metal subgirts were used to securely attach the panels to the building’s structure. These subgirts provide a robust framework that adds extra strength to the system, ensuring that the panels are securely fastened and capable of withstanding the environmental stresses of an urban setting. The combination of expertly crafted panels, seamless installation, and reinforced attachment methods resulted in a striking, durable exterior for the RNH Teen Center, embodying both form and function.
